Frequently Asked Questions & Policies

Here are some questions I’m commonly asked about nose work. If you need more information –

Puppies are welcome as well as elderly dogs… and any age in between. Contact me for more information.

You only need your leash, non-tightening collar or harness, a bag of high value treats and your K9 partner. More information on all of this will be sent to you before your first class.

No – the dogs work one at a time in class and wait in the vehicle before their next turn. This allows the dogs to concentrate in the search plus the rest between searches is valuable for the dog to process what they learned. Professional detection dogs also work alone.

Classes are 90 minutes long and have 6 dogs maximum. I do some smaller sized classes that run for an hour also.

If I do a mini-seminar on a single topic then the length of that class changes according to the number of dogs and the time frame needed.

Check out the ‘Classes page’ for number of classes in a set for each level and what is offered.

If your dog is reactive to other dogs, then group nose work classes can work for your dog. Human reactive dogs don’t generally do well in group classes. Reach out to me if you want further discussion on this.

For SETS of classes,
If you have to cancel 14 days out then you get a full refund – minus a $5.00 admin fee.
If 10 days out -a 50% refund.
Less than 10 days from class start, no refund.

If there is a class cancelled due to weather or other circumstances, I’ll attempt to do a make-up class in-person but I also reserve the right to change that one class or classes (ie in the case of an ongoing extreme weather event or other situation) to Zoom classes –  ie online teaching with live coaching.

Start by filling out the Interest Form and I’ll reach out to you after that.
